Marechal Ney, Chantelet Chapel on the morning of Waterloo - Fine Art

The Marshal and his staff spent the night of 17-18 June 1815 at Chantelet Farm, a farm just behind the Caillou Farm where Napoleon was staying at the same time. He is shown here with Colonel Heymès, his aide-de-camp, in a red dolman, and a number of staff officers. His escort, made up of lancers from the cavalry of the line, is waiting. The chapel in the background is still visible today.
